We are a national manufacturer of steel roofing and cladding. With over 120 staff and more than 25,000 tonnes of steel products supplied each year, we remain family-run and focused on quality, service and supporting the sectors that built us.

We are Built on Experience
Thomas Panels & Profiles began on a working farm in Herefordshire. When our founder Evan Thomas needed cladding for a new cattle building, he ordered a full artic load and sold the surplus to neighbouring farms. Under his successor, Richard Thomas, the company grew into a trusted supplier, building long-term partnerships with names like Tata Steel and Brett Martin. The move to Leominster marked our step into manufacturing and became the catalyst for the national supplier we are today.
Our product range is the largest in the UK and continues to grow. Under the leadership of Managing Director George Thomas, and backed by a skilled and committed team, the business has gone from strength to strength. Across the board, our people bring deep, hands-on knowledge of the product and the process, built through real experience on the ground. That collective expertise guides everything we do, from investing in new machinery to expanding our range and scaling up with purpose.

Our History
1980's
It Started with a Shed
Evan Thomas, a farmer from Pencombe in Herefordshire, set out to construct a new agricultural building. He sourced a full artic load of low-cost cladding materials, using only what was needed for the project. The remaining stock was advertised in the Hereford Times and quickly sold. This straightforward, needs-based decision revealed a clear demand in the local area. Evan repeated the process, and the business began to take shape. Operating as Thomas of Pencombe, it became a reliable supply source for cladding materials, trusted by farmers and builders alike. That early focus on practical supply, value, and dependable service laid the foundations for what would become a respected name in the UK cladding industry.
1990's
Growing the Supply Side
With a clear demand established, Evan’s son Richard Thomas stepped in to take the business forward. Recognising the need for consistent, trade-grade supply, he developed the company into a dedicated reseller of steel roofing and cladding products. Richard focused on building long-term relationships with leading manufacturers, including Tata Steel, Cembrit, and Brett Martin partnerships that ensured reliable stock, trusted performance, and continuity of supply for a growing customer base. This shift laid the groundwork for a more structured, service-led approach and positioned the business as a dependable name within the construction and agricultural sectors.
Early - 2000's
Move to Leominster
Relocating to Leominster in Herefordshire gave us the space to expand. It marked the shift from reseller to manufacturer, starting with a single roll-forming machine in a 34,000 sq ft facility. As the business moved beyond its local roots, we transitioned from Thomas of Pencombe to Thomas Panels & Profiles, a name that reflected our growing capability and reach across the industry. This was where we learned the ropes of manufacturing and laid the groundwork for the company we’ve become.
Mid - 2000's
Manufacturing Takes Off
George Thomas trained on our roll-forming line before gaining exposure across every department. That foundation gave him a deep, practical understanding of our products and a unique vantage point from which to lead. Since taking the helm, he’s driven a fivefold increase in turnover, supercharging our manufacturing capabilities with new machinery, expanding our sheet and component offerings, and sharpening our focus on volume-led growth. Every investment he makes is calculated. It’s based on his intimate knowledge of our processes and products, not on guesswork. Under his leadership, we’ve diversified intelligently, entering new markets and introducing innovative offerings, all while keeping quality and service front and centre.
