ROOF SHEETING

PROFILES.

Profiled sheets for every project

We supply one of the widest ranges of steel roof sheeting in the UK, with profiles to suit every type of build. From box profile and corrugated sheets through to tile effect and standing seam systems, our range gives you flexibility, strength, and the finish you need. Although some profiles are exclusively for a roof application, the box profiles can also be used in a wall application.

TECHNICAL: LOADSPAN TABLES AND DIMENSIONS

Our profiled sheet load/span tables provide guidance on the structural performance of our profiles in 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm thicknesses. Some profiles are available in 0.5 mm only, and the tables indicate the allowable loads for each span.

Both positive (+ve) and negative (-ve) loads are shown. Positive loads are based on a deflection limit of L/200, while negative loads are based on L/150.

These tables have been produced by SCI on behalf of Thomas Panels and Profiles in accordance with BS EN 1993-1-3:2006. The loads presented represent the total characteristic load that can be applied to the profile for a given span. In design, this value must include the self-weight of the profile together with any other permanent or imposed loads.

MAIN FEATURES

  • Manufactured from high-quality galvanised steel for strength and durability

  • Forward profiled design optimised for roofing applications

  • Excellent strength-to-weight ratio, allowing efficient spanning between purlins

  • Quick and straightforward installation with well-proven profile designs

  • Crimp curving available on selected profiles for curved roof applications

  • Matching GRP rooflight sheets available for all standard profiles to allow natural daylight into buildings

  • Wide choice of coatings, colours and lengths to suit different projects

  • Suitable for agricultural, industrial and commercial roofing applications

  • Specialist options available including Pantile 1100, providing a traditional tiled roof appearance, and Clickseam 465, a modern hidden-fix standing seam style system

Steel profiled sheets provide a practical and cost-effective roofing and cladding solution for a wide range of buildings. Their high strength-to-weight ratio allows them to span efficiently between supports, often reducing the amount of structural framework required compared with some alternative roofing systems.

The lightweight nature of profiled steel sheets also makes them easier to handle and quicker to install, helping to reduce installation time and overall project costs. Sheets can be manufactured to required lengths, minimising end laps and improving weather resistance.

Galvanised and coated steel offers excellent durability and resistance to corrosion, providing a long service life with minimal maintenance. Modern coating systems also allow a wide range of colours and finishes, making steel sheets suitable for both functional and visually appealing building designs.

In addition, steel is fully recyclable, making profiled steel sheets a sustainable roofing option that combines long-term performance with environmental benefits.

Coatings and colours: to suit every application

We offer a wide range of coatings and colours across our full product range, including galvanised, polyester, and plastisol finishes—each providing different performance benefits and service life to suit your application.

Please note that colours displayed on screen may vary from the actual product due to differences in display settings. We recommend requesting physical samples to accurately assess colour and finish.

Availability & Lead Times

Lead times can vary significantly depending on the coating and colour selected. In some cases, extended lead times may apply due to production and coating processes. We strongly recommend checking stock availability prior to ordering and noting that minimum order quantities may apply to certain specifications.

Galvanised Coating

GALVANISED COATING

We use a high quality base steel for all of our manufactured products. This is then hot-dip galvanised with a Z275g/m² coating to ensure longevity of the foundation material.

You can expect sheets and flashings of this material to last approximately 10 years. This galvanised base layer is available in a range of thicknesses depending on the requirement.

Galvanised

POLYESTER

Polyester coated materials use the same Z275 galvanised substrate and alkyd primer as the plastisol materials but are then coated with a 25μm Polyester paint.

Mostly used in agricultural applications due to the complimentary colour range and stability in non-aggressive environments. This coating can be expected to last up to 10 years before first maintenance isrequired if properly maintained this time can be extended.

TPP Plastisol and TPP Plastisol +

TPP Plastisol and TPP Plastisol + are coated steel products developed by Thomas Panels and Profiles to deliver dependable performance for roof and wall cladding applications. Both systems are designed to provide a consistent finish, strong corrosion resistance and a practical solution across a wide range of building types.

Each coating features a leathergrain embossed surface and is available in a broad range of standard colours. Both are suitable for roof pitches down to 4 degrees and incorporate a high-performance reverse coating to support durability across the full system.

TPP Plastisol offers reliable performance with a guarantee of up to 25 years, while TPP Plastisol + is enhanced to deliver extended performance, with a guarantee of up to 30 years. In both cases, expected lifespan will vary depending on location, environment and colour group, with inland applications typically achieving longer service life than coastal installations.

To maintain performance and ensure the validity of the guarantee, a regular inspection and maintenance regime should be followed, including the removal of debris and contaminants from areas not naturally washed by rainfall.
