Diagonal Wire Ties
Used within vertical wall elevations, diagonal wire ties help maintain alignment, improve rigidity, and ensure the reliable performance of the secondary steelwork supporting the cladding system.
Our diagonal wire tie assemblies are supplied pre-assembled, complete with two brackets, a high-tensile Bowden cable, and an adjustable threaded tension ferrule. This arrangement allows installers to apply precise tension on site, ensuring rails remain square, level, and fully supported throughout the structure.

MAIN FEATURES
MAIN FEATURES
Wire tie brackets should be connected to the cleat hole closest to the face of the column.
Technical Function in Wall Systems
Controlling Deflection and Alignment
Side rails can deflect under the weight of cladding materials or due to wind loading. Diagonal wire ties act as tension members, helping to reduce sagging and maintain straight wall lines, particularly across larger bays or taller elevations.
Load Transfer to the Primary Frame
Diagonal ties assist in distributing loads from the cladding and rails back to the main structural frame, such as columns or eaves beams. This improves overall stability and reduces localised stresses within the side rail system.
Lateral and Torsional Restraint
Under eccentric loads, side rails may be prone to rotation or twist. The diagonal wire tie arrangement provides additional lateral restraint, helping prevent unwanted movement that could otherwise affect cladding performance or fixing integrity.
