Eaves Stiffening Cleats

Thomas Panels and Profiles Eaves Beam Stiffening Cleats are designed to provide localised reinforcement to cold-formed steel eaves beams where additional support is required, particularly at positions where side rails or intermediate supports are connected.

MAIN FEATURES

These cleats enhance the structural performance of the eaves beam by strengthening the lower flange at key load points, helping maintain alignment and stability within the wall cladding support system.

In many wall cladding arrangements, side rail systems may be suspended from the eaves beam rather than relying solely on diagonal tie wires. Where this configuration is used, a stiffening cleat is installed to increase the beam’s resistance to local bending forces generated by the suspended loads.

Technical Function

Local Flange Reinforcement

The primary purpose of an eaves beam stiffening cleat is to increase the bending resistance of the lower flange of the eaves beam at intermediate support locations. This helps prevent local deformation and ensures the beam can safely accommodate additional loading.
