A large-scale project at Heatherton World of Activities, featuring over 1,600 linear metres of steel roofing and cladding supplied by Thomas Panels & Profiles.

Project overview

The Heatherton World of Activities project called for a comprehensive roofing and cladding package for a substantial new building in Tenby. We supplied the profiled steel sheeting alongside the flashings, support system, fixings and rainwater goods required for the installation.  With long sheet lengths and a consistent Merlin Grey finish across the building, the project demonstrates how a coordinated material package can provide both a practical building envelope and a strong, uniform appearance.

What was Required?

The project required a substantial package of roofing and cladding materials for Heatherton World of Activities in Tenby. Thomas Panels & Profiles supplied more than 1,600 linear metres of TPP 1000-32 profiled steel sheeting, comprising over 1,150 metres of forward profile for the roof and more than 455 metres of reverse profile for the walls and gables.

The specification called for 0.7mm Merlin Grey Plastisol, with sheets manufactured in a range of lengths up to 6.75 metres to suit the building. The order also included bespoke flashings, an AshGrid support system, fixings and an industrial rainwater system to provide the components required to complete the external envelope.

The end result

The completed building has a clean, consistent finish, with Merlin Grey profiled steel used across the roof, walls and gables. The scale of the project is particularly striking, with more than 1,600 linear metres of profiled sheeting forming the external envelope.

Bespoke flashings and the industrial rainwater system complete the installation, resulting in a robust and practical building envelope suited to the scale and use of the development.
